The Lodging House Mission is a day centre in the east end of the city, that caters for homeless people, hostel dwellers and people trying to resettle in Glasgow. Over 150 visitors come to the centre each day for hot meals, counselling, some medical services and a growing array of other services to help them rebuild their lives in a positive and caring environment. These services include literacy and numeracy classes, plus an Internet Café, where a regular stream of visitors learn computer skills, assisting them to secure employment.
Netherlee Church has enjoyed a long association with the Lodging House Mission. Throughout the year, we provide valuable support to help the hard working and enthusiastic team continue their great work. This includes supporting the annual Easter Egg appeal and donating food at Harvest time, as well as giving financial assistance by supporting the Christmas Card appeal.
