Starter Packs

Since 1998, Starter Packs Glasgow, based in Govan, has provided basic essentials to homeless people who are moving into a new home. Founded with assistance from Scottish Churches Housing Action, Starter Packs Glasgow is an ecumenical organisation, which relies greatly on support from churches and individuals who can donate household items such as bedding, crockery, furniture, towels, pots & pans, children's toys - indeed anything that can make a house a home.
The organisation aims to relieve poverty, stress and hardship by helping people to secure and maintain tenancy of their own home. Last year alone, over 600 families in Glasgow were assisted in this way. As well as the practical help Starter Packs can give, the organisation can offer a sense of community suppport and hope that is priceless.
Netherlee Church co-ordinates the collection and delivery of items for Starter Packs, and has done so for several years. If you have any suitable items for donation, please leave them in the Church's Welcome Hall, marked 'Starter Packs', or contact Margaret Fleck via the Church Office.
