The next meeting of the Book Club is on 27 July at 8pm.  We are  reviewing “My name is Lucy Barton” by Elizabeth Strout.  The Book Club is now recognised by Clarkston Library as an official book club and means that we have priority on book loans!  New readers welcome.


In with your kind donations to our Starter Packs brown penny fund we often find small denomination foreign currency.   Having collected a good amount of this I confirmed that Christian Aid is happy to take this as a donation.  If you have any such coins that you would be happy to donate, please place them in the marked box which will be left in the Welcome Hall during the month of July.  Thank you for your continued support of our activities.


There will be no Holiday Club this summer, however, it is our intention to run one next summer.

Meanwhile . . . Messy Church is an opportunity for busy young families on a Sunday afternoon from 4-6pm to experience Church through games, crafts and activities; as well as something to eat as a family. It’s OK to drop in at the last minute!

Proposed dates for the 2018/19 session are Sunday 9th September / 18th November / 20th January / 3rd March. SAVE THESE DATES NOW!

Lodging House Mission Fundraising Day (incl. cycle run)

25th August 2018

The route is the same as last year, leaving from Glasgow Green, covering 18 miles, and finishing at LHM itself. We also plan smaller routes of 5 and 10 miles in the hope that more people will participate.  A BBQ is laid on for supporters and hungry cyclists. Even if you are not participating, please come along on the day to support the cyclists, see the premises and enjoy Archie and Mark’s fine BBQ.

Once again we are asking as many people as possible to enter or sponsor someone else who is taking part. Last year, in addition to cycling, other fundraising events included a church day out, walking, running, swimming, knitting (men) and just straightforward giving.  Although we have set aside 25th August for the cycle event, other sponsorship activity can of course take place anywhere on any date.  It really doesn’t matter what you do or when you do it. The idea is just to raise funds to help Glasgow’s homeless and most vulnerable citizens.

Thank you for your continued support which is very gratefully received.  At the moment there is a particular shortage of juice, toiletries and tinned custard, rice, veg & fruit.


Members are reminded that our monthly magazine LINK is available on line. If interested, please complete a Members Contact Details form in the Welcome desk and place in the office tray in the Welcome Hall. This will help us to reduce the number of paper copies. Thanks.


Are you aware that if you have been unable to attend worship on a Sunday morning you can see the service from Sunday afternoon online? Many now have a “second look” enjoying seeing the service from a different angle thanks to our operators on the AV Desk. The service is streamed live on YouTube and easily obtained right here on the Website.
